AP132 - 50-Bore percussion turn-off round action boxlock pocket pistol, signed Hanson, Doncaster, no visible serial number, circa 1835, with round tapering 1 ¾” turn-off barrel and under lug for removal, scroll engraved rounded action with central hammer and concealed trigger and smooth walnut bag-shaped butt. A quality made gun it also has a sliding safety. Pre-1856 Birmingham Proof marks. Hansons were a family of gunmakers in Goose Hill, Doncaster from 1817 to the late 1860’s, this pistol most likely from Nathan Hanson or possibly Sarah Hanson. Clean and clear engraving to the round action and at the muzzle, traces of original blue to the barrel.
